NUGA Castellana
NUGA Castellana is a 66,000 sqm mixed-use asset in the center of Madrid’s Chamartín district. Historically considered a random set of neighboring buildings, NUGA Castellana is now a unified city block, offering 21,000 sqm of flexible office space, 11,000 sqm of retail, wellness and gastronomy, and 274 for-rent residential units.
Prior to 2019, these spaces were connected only by their location. Recognizing the opportunity, between 2019 and 2022 PIMCO Prime Real Estate initiated a series of acquisitions of the individual buildings and, in 2024, launched a €40M redevelopment project to unify the asset. Rebranded as NUGA Castellana, the asset was delivered and inaugurated in November 2025.
The transformation has revitalized the block into a vibrant mixed-use destination, unique in Madrid. The name ‘NUGA’ refers to a nucleus into which visitors are invited to explore. This reflects the centerpiece of the asset, the gastronomy offering El Callejon, which has opened up a previously underused space and reconnected the property with the city.
NUGA Castellana is also a smart and highly sustainable asset, holding both LEED Platinum and SmartScore Platinum certifications, and was the first PIMCO Prime-managed building in Spain to be fitted with our proprietary smart building program, ensuring optimized efficiency and promoting user well-being.
