Deloitte Italia has announced the relocation of the network's new headquarters to Corso Italia 23, in the heart of Milan, a real estate complex owned by the Allianz Group. The new headquarters will house approximately 5,000 people starting in December 2023 and will cover an area of 49,000 sqm. It will be one of the first zero-emission buildings in Italy, with more than 1,100 sqm of new green areas.

"The choice of the new building was made to support the growth of the network and is part of our Impact for Italy program", commented Fabio Pompei, CEO of Deloitte Italia. "In this historical moment, in which work and its spaces need to be rethought, we want to look positively to the future and imagine our people at the center of a sustainable and flexible working space, which encourages innovation, inclusion, creativity, well-being and the most effective collaboration between our people".

Giacomo Campora, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz S.p.A., underlines: "We welcome the decision of Deloitte Italia and their confidence in the Corso Italia 23 project for their new Milanese headquarters, which I am sure will become a campus with a strong innovative and sustainable drive."

The new offices in Corso Italia 23, an area that is constantly evolving and will soon see the opening of line 4 of the Milan underground system, housed the Allianz Group's headquarters in the Lombardy capital until 2018. The structure is based on the concept of a campus, i.e. a single complex with three buildings, made up of interconnected areas with horizontal and vertical pathways that make the most of all the available space. The complex, which remains the property of Allianz, also occupies a central location in an iconic area of the city of Milan and is characterized by high standards of design, technology and sustainability, which contribute to the urban regeneration and reforestation of the city.

Elena Vistarini, Real Estate Industry Leader at Deloitte Italia, adds: "The move into this smart building will allow Deloitte Italia to optimize energy savings through the use of renewable energy. The building will be NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building), certified LEED Platinum and WELL Gold and will be equipped with customizable ‘Smart Ready‘ features, with real-time monitoring of environmental conditions.

“Common areas dedicated to sports, business, dining and leisure, and including an Auditorium and Food Hall, will introduce new spaces for socialising around the workplace, offering Deloitte people a large multifunctional space.“

Donato Saponara, Country Head - Italy, Head of Transactions West Europe, Allianz Real Estate, says: "This property redevelopment project represents excellence by Allianz Real Estate. With the support of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage and the Municipality of Milan we are regenerating an asset that is a benchmark for quality and size in the centre of Milan. The design by the international architecture firm SOM will deliver leading ESG performance, in line with our commitment to sustainability and people's well-being. The concept of the campus, the fluidity of the building, the flexibility of its spaces and the desire for innovation are the founding principles of the project."

The agreements signed between Deloitte and Allianz Real Estate include the signing of a 12-year lease.

The architectural complex was designed in 1958 by Gio Ponti, Fornaroli and Portaluppi while the redevelopment project was carried out by the American firm Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM), which has respected the innovative spirit that inspired the initial project and is now working with Allianz Real Estate and Deloitte Italia on the next phase of development of Corso Italia 23.
