ZIA – the strong voice of German property – as a regulatory and economic lobby group for policy in the property sector, interviewed Annette Kröger about her career in the real estate industry and within Allianz Real Estate.

A successful career is a match of different factors such as studies, valuable experiences, networking, and a long term improvement process. More in depth, Annette during the interview identified the key skills you need to succeed in the job scenario:

Starting her career within Goldman Sachs - Real Estate Division in London and Frankfurt, Annette explained how the financial crisis impacted her career, implying to find other opportunities. Recognize changes as career drivers, networking and being flexible were at that time the successful way to overcome the challenge. Since 2009 Annette has been working for Allianz Real Estate Germany holding various leading positions within the investment management team. In April 2015 she was appointed to her current role - CEO of Allianz Real Estate Germany.

A typical working day for Annette means travelling, attending meetings and negotiating with potential business partners: "My office is in Frankfurt, but most of the time I am travelling to the ARE offices in Munich, Stuttgart and Hamburg. During my duty travels across Europe, I visit assets in which we are interested in investing in or I take part in conferences. A fundamental part of my work is attending meetings with my team, especially while we are focused on developing a new strategy for an acquisition. I really appreciate the great team spirit within the group. I have great responsibility in leading the company and the team, which means taking the right choice at the right time and being a valuable guide."
